Henry County Democrats can look back on 2012 election with pride

1. On election day only 23% of registered voters in Henry County were Democrats - and while we did not win majorities for Democratic candidates - our vote totals were instrumental in helping them win the State Senate, Congress and the Presidency.
2. Democrats won 4 of 9 precincts for the President and Congressman Loebsack and we won the absentee vote. In 2008 we won no precincts.
3. Mt. Pleasant ward 2 had the most favorable results. This precinct also had our best groundgame "get-out-the-vote" organization.
4. We clearly won the independent, "No Party" vote in Henry County.
5. Our initiative with satellite voting at Iowa Wesleyan College was a valuable public service to our local college and its students.
